    Bio:

Shannon began her study of movement through 20 years of dance training, a career that often leaves athletes prone to injury and disordered eating. She chose to study exercise and nutrition in order to help others understand how a balanced approach to health and training can optimize wellness and performance. Personal experience in activities such as running, kickboxing, and triathlon have inspired Shannon to train athletes of all levels, from those learning a new sport to those competing at the elite and professional level. Shannon also has an extensive background in rehabilitation and uses her experience and ongoing education to work with clients in chronic pain or rehabilitating from injury.

Shannon subscribes to the belief that every person uses their body in important ways every day, therefore healthy movement is a key to getting the most out of life for all of us. Whether they are a grandparent wanting more energy, an employee needing improved posture, someone looking to prevent injury or rediscover pain free movement, or an athlete preparing for an upcoming event, Shannon has the tools to help each client become their best.

Shannon believes in educating and empowering clients so they can take control of their own health and fitness. Some of the tools she draws on include: Pilates, resistance training, proprioceptive and neurological enhancement, yoga, cardiovascular training, stabilization and balance training, client education, and fun. Shannon combines a mind body philosophy with hard work and dedication to make each program effective and perfectly individualized.

In 2003, Shannon partnered with Adrienne Dornheggen to open Zoom Fitness and Pilates Studio with the desire to create a home for everyone who wants to unlock their fitness potential and rediscover the joy in moving well and feeling great. She can’t wait to share that vision with you and watch you excel!
