Pilates Instructor, Yoga Instructor, Physical Therapist
Certifications/Education:Experience:Bio:After 11 years of studying ballet, Katie stumbled into a yoga class to get a stretch. She was instantly addicted and has been a student in Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga for over 10 years now. She became certified to teach yoga in 2001. After suffering an injury, she began incorporating Pilates into her rehabilitation as well and was amazed with the results. She became certified in Pilates in 2005 to share her newfound love of Pilates with others, focusing on posture, body alignment, and muscle balance. She believes the stability and strength associated with Pilates is a perfect counterpart to yoga. She has seen the power of both practices helping people work through injuries, life challenges, and pain and feels that both can be life-changing in these ways. Katie also completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy, has a B.S. in Kinesiology, and a background of working with people with injuries. |
